⏰ The Final Countdown! ⏰

April 5, 2023

Dear Neighbor,

As we near the end of this Legislative Session, I have been hard at work in the House helping to pass legislation that will benefit not only my constituency, but Maryland as a whole. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had great opportunities to meet with local and State leaders on a number of critical issues. See below for updates from the community, my meeting with advocacy leaders, and important upcoming events in the District!

My next newsletter will be my 2023 End of Session Letter, outlining the entire 90 days of the 445th legislative session!

Labor, CAAL, and Mom’s Demand Take Action in Annapolis

My colleagues and I have had the pleasure of speaking to so many advocates and constituents these last few weeks as bills in both chambers look for their best path forward.

As a daughter & granddaughter of Labor, I was incredibly proud to speak at #UnionNight in Annapolis with Metro Baltimore Council AFL - CIO Unions and Baltimore DC Metro Building Trades Council - BDCBT!

Earlier this week the Caucus of African American Leaders came to the House office building to speak to dozens of members on the bills that were most important to them! Members from across the State came to Annapolis for their 1st annual “CAAL @ the Capital”. It was great to hear their priorities and share with them what I’ve been working on this Session. Looking forward to their visit next year!

I was so excited to see my constituents and fellow members of Moms Demand Action MD making their voices heard this week on Lawyer’s Mall! Their advocacy has been critical as Maryland continues to make strides to address gun violence in our communities. I am so thankful of their work for all of our families.
