Yesterday was a truly special day....
Last Spring, I was so happy to see overwhelming support for my Stanton Center Book Drive. Thanks to the generosity of so many in our community, I got to read those books with the children that take part in their after school program! Librarian Lois did an amazing job organizing them into the existing books, and making them easily accessible to the blossoming young readers.

Thank you to all those at the Stanton Center that provide this opportunity to the kids, and to everyone that took time out of their days to donate books last Spring. I can’t wait to do more work with them again next year!
Join me for an Evening by the Water, Tonight!
FINAL reminder that my An Evening on the Water fundraiser is TODAY October 5th! Speaker Adrienne Jones will be joining us for a wonderful evening at the second location of the

Annapolis Maritime Museum, their new Merrill Family Pavilion.
The address for the event is 7300 Edgewood Road, Annapolis, Maryland 21403. As this is my first fundraiser of the election cycle, and my only fundraiser this year, it would mean a lot to have you join us.
The reception begins at 6:00pm, and full details can be found in the flier. You can reserve your spot here!
Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park Tour

Thank you to County Executive Steuart Pittman for organizing an Anne Arundel County Delegation tour of the Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park Grounds last week. Newly acquired from the State, it was great to hear their updates and long term plans for the site.

It is especially important that the County works to revitalize the property in a way that takes into account the cultural history of the site, including the necessary infrastructure to support the health and wellness of Anne Arundel County residents and the need for more recreation and parks. I'm looking forward to taking part in these conversations as they develop into the future!

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with AACPL

Join AACPL as we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15. It is a time to explore the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, Anne Arundel County Public Library will host events and highlight a wide range of resources, including books, movies and online materials celebrating Hispanic culture and heritage. We hope everyone will enjoy the celebrations! Choose your next read from our lists of books written by Hispanic American authors.
- Check out our booklists for kids, teens and adults. We also have a list of recommended books in Spanish! - Download books by Hispanic authors in eBook and eAudiobook formats to enjoy instantly using Overdrive/Libby and Cloud Library. - Looking for more books written by Hispanic Americans?
