Statement on My Endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris

This morning, I along with my fellow Maryland Delegates to the Democratic National Convention, voted unanimously to endorse Vice President Harris for the 2024 Democratic nomination for President of the United States.

I enthusiastically endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States! Her record as Vice President builds on a distinguished career as District Attorney, Attorney General, and United States Senator from the nation's largest state. Vice President Harris is ready to prosecute the case against Donald Trump, and lead our Country on day one.

Since Trump's overturning of Roe v. Wade, Vice President Harris has been leading the fight to support abortion protection measures around the Country. She is uniquely positioned to lead America against Trump, Republicans, and the courts trying to eliminate access to abortion, IVF, contraception, and other reproductive health care.

Vice President Harris has also helped pass and implement historic legislation helping working families, including expanding the Child Tax Credit and lowering prescription drug costs for seniors. She has been an advocate and leader on critical foreign policy issues, gun violence, and climate change.

In 2020, Vice President Harris was part of the ticket to beat Trump, earning 81 million votes. She made history as the first woman, the first Black American, and the first South Asian American to be elected Vice President of the United States. We have 106 days until the Presidential General election - I hope you will join us making history again as we elect Kamala Harris the 47th President of the United States.
