October 7, 2022
Dear Friend,
This past Sunday, I was honored as a recipient of the 2022 Fannie Lou Hamer award presented by Carl Snowden and the Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. Awards Committee, Inc.
Fannie Lou Hamer was a tremendous trailblazer for the issues that I hold so close to my heart. Her fearlessness and tireless work to ensure that all citizens have the right to vote is what has inspired me as a member of the House Subcommittee on Election Law.
Our work these past two years has expanded the ability, accessibility, and availability for all of our citizens to vote. And I am so proud of the work we have done to make Maryland a leader in voting. Her insistence that everyone has a seat at the table, and that all have the right to vote and run for office has always been an inspiration to me.
I was humbled to stand with the other 23 amazing women that received this recognition this year. I thank all of them for their tireless work to make Anne Arundel a more inclusive and safe place for all of us. I am proud to have partnered with so many of them on projects, and I looked forward to our continued work together.
This means so very much to me and my family who were with me on Sunday night. Thank you to the Fannie Lou Hamer sub-committee and the Anne Arundel County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Board for this amazing honor, it means so much to me.
Endorsement Alert! Planned Parenthood of DMV
I am so proud to have earned the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Advocates for DC, Maryland & NoVa for my tireless lifetime work to protect a person’s reproductive freedom.
With our constitutional right to abortion gone and pending legislation for a federal ban, the fight is now in the state legislature. As your state Delegate I have co-sponsored legislation to protect and expand reproductive health care. We know that no one is free if the government can determine who can and can’t afford access to abortion, birth control, and other essential health care. And no one is free until everyone can get the health care they need - no matter their income or neighborhood. Together, we can ensure a state where everyone can live their healthiest lives and be free to make their own choice about their bodies and lives. But I can’t do it without your support! Please help support my campaign by donating here!

Myself, Senator Sarah Elfreth, Delegate Shaneka Henson, Councilwoman Lisa Rodvien truly appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with so many of our constituents. Truly a beautiful place, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland's Camp Woodlands is a treasure of District 30A.
In collaboration with Senator Sarah Elfreth, Senator Guy Guzzone, and Delegate Shaneka Henson, we were able to secure $2 million in State funding, in addition to $500,000 from Senator Van Hollen, to turn this site into the "camp of the future"!

Love Our Libraries
There are two exciting things brewing with Ceremony Coffee Roasters that benefit the library! ☕☕☕
Help power up your librarians!
Pay it forward to your favorite librarians by purchasing any bag of coffee from Ceremony's Annapolis Roastery (90 Russell St., Suite 500) or the Riva café (2329 Forest Drive). Ceremony will take care of the rest by delivering donated bags of coffee to our library staff for their daily jet fuel power up. That’ll get them zooming around the stacks! Available through January 2023.
I love you a latte! Ceremony’s Fall drink menu is now available and scrumptious. Each time you order Lord of the Pies at Ceremony’s Roastery, the Riva café or Bethesda (7475 Wisconsin Avenue) locations a portion of the proceeds will go towards your library automatically. Lord of the Pies is a latte with house-made apple pie syrup and caramel, topped with whipped cream infused with maple, vanilla, and apple pie spice. Available through November 2022. I encourage everyone to follow the Anne Arundel County Public Library’s Facebook page to get updates on programs and new resources. You can check out their calendar to find the perfect event for you and your family to enjoy!
You can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn about volunteer opportunities, community resources, COVID-19 updates, and much more. If you have any questions or concerns, you can always contact my office by email at Dana.Jones@house.state.md.us or by phone at 410-841-3211.
