Eastport Community Services and Resources Pop Up 🥰
Great to be at the Community Services and Resources Pop Up in Eastport last week! I saw so many lovely folks helping their fellow community members.
Over the course of the summer, these Community Services and Resources Pop Ups will be taking place in communities around the City!
Resources include financial literacy, nutritional health, food banks, free household essentials, and information about: conflict resolution and anger management courses, job training and development, mental and physical health, and healthy coping mechanisms.
Thank you so much to everyone involved that make these critical events happen, including The City Of Annapolis, NO HARM, and Seeds 4 Success to name a few!
Remembering Robert “Bubby” Clark III
On July 27th, Annapolis tragically lost another member of our community to senseless gun violence. Robert “Bubby” Clark III, only 16 years old, was killed just outside his home. As his family is faced with this horrific loss, please consider supporting them by donating to their GoFundMe.
These funds will be used to help pay for funeral arrangements for Mr. Clark.
Bubby Clark’s family is going through pain that no family should have to go through. It is my hope that we as a community can help his family in any way we can. Thank you in advance.
Get Funds for Child Care!
The Maryland State Department of Education recently launched a new fast track Child Care Scholarship (CCS) Application process. The fast track process shortens the scholarship approval wait time for families from 35 days to 3 business days to get help with child care expenses. Eligible families will receive a temporary scholarship for 60 days while their CCS application is processed. Scholarships are available for a child who is younger than 13, or an individual 13-19 years with a qualifying disability.
To qualify for the fast track CCS scholarship, applicants must:
Be a Maryland resident,
Be employed or enrolled in school or a training program, and
Meet the program income requirements.
Here's how families can apply:
Go to the Child Care Scholarship Family Portal and create an account. Click on “Register for a New Account” and enter your information. (If you need help with the registration process, view the Learn How to Register instructions.)
Fill out and complete the short, fast track, online scholarship application and submit 2 documents:
Proof of employment or enrollment in training/school

During the week, any single qualifying article of clothing or footwear priced $100 or less -- regardless of how many items are purchased in the same transaction -- will be exempt from the state's 6% sales tax. The first $40 of any backpack purchase is also tax-free. #taxfreeweek
