A Beautiful Day to Get Out and Vote!

Last week we kicked off early voting for the Maryland Primary! Through July 14th, Voters can vote in person from 7am to 8pm daily at any early voting locations (listed above) in the County. For those of you who requested a ballot, don’t forget to mail in or return your ballot at any of the county’s 32 drop boxes on or before Election day ( July 19th)!

Additionally, we need your help! Team D30A needs your help to keep watch at the polls, talk to voters as they come in, and collect numbers at the end of the night! We have both morning and evening shifts at each of the polling locations in D30A. If you would like to get involved and lend a hand, you can sign up here and we will reach out to you with additional information

Join us in the most beautiful district in Maryland!

Yesterday was another brilliantly beautiful day in District 30a talking with voters. You can help us get out the vote this Saturday when my friend Brooke Lierman joins us to canvas here in the district. Click here to sign up and learn more! We can’t do this without all of you!

Endorsement Alert!

In case you missed the news, it was recently announced that I received the endorsement of the Maryland National Organization for Women (NOW). At a time when a woman's right to have control over her own body is under attack, I am so proud to have earned this endorsement. My commitment to supporting and uplifting women here in Maryland, including a person's right to choose, is in direct alignment with NOW's mission. Abortion is on the ballot. Now more than ever it is critical that Marylanders do their research, know their candidates, and get out to VOTE. You can find the entire list of NOW endorsed candidates HERE!

100% for Protecting Our Environment

The 2022 Maryland LCV annual scorecard is out and I am proud to say that I earned a 100% for my votes on environmental justice issues, climate change, public transportation & protecting our precious natural resources. You can read more about the work my colleagues and I accomplished this past session here!

2022 Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to our 2022 Delegate Dana Jones Scholarship recipients! This was an amazing group of students that our committee awarded scholarships to. These students are not only dedicated to furthering their academic careers but also to giving back to the community in truly amazing ways - from advocating for gun safety, to supporting our Latino & Hispanic communities, to supporting voter registration efforts. Getting to help support these students through our scholarship is incredibly rewarding and is one of my favorite parts of being a Delegate. 30A is full of so many talented individuals and I wish them all the best of success in their academic careers! I also want to give a huge thanks to those who have served on my scholarship committee. These volunteers have spent several weeks painstakingly going through our applications and I could not do all this without them.

$19 Million in State Funds for Annapolis Projects

Recently my colleagues and I joined the city of Annapolis to discuss the success the D30a Delegation had in bringing home funds for the district this past Session. The $19 million allocated to nearly two dozen projects through the City allows Annapolis to better preserve and teach our unique Maritime history, provide more places for families to play and exercise, and implement resilient infrastructure to defend against the impacts of climate change. We are truly blessed to represent a city with so many amazing organizations helping to uplift our shared constituency and I am proud to support them through the many Legislative Bond Initiatives that our Delegation sponsored this Session.

This $19 million for projects throughout the city of Annapolis is just part of the nearly $70 million brought home for the entire district, which includes projects in the surrounding communities. This includes $1,200,000 dedicated to the Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation for the acquisition of Carrs and Sparrows Beach to preserve these historic properties, converting them into a state park where Marylanders can enjoy the outdoors while learning about their rich history. You can learn more about the projects that were funded this year in my 2022 End of Session Letter!

Celebrating July 4th

It was a very busy Independence Day here in District 30a! Thank you to the community of West Annapolis for inviting me to participate in your 4th of July festivities where I got to meet Amanda Moore who earned a silver medal when representing Maryland in the recent Special Olympics Maryland USA Games in Orlando, FL! Later, my family and I also enjoyed a neighborhood July 4th bike parade followed by the Annapolis City Parade. I want to give a big thank you to everyone who came out to support me and all the Democrats of District 30 in The City Of Annapolis Parade this year, and I cannot wait to do it all again next year!

A Historic Look into Space

Yesterday, President Biden revealed the very first image from the James Webb Telescope showing us deeper into our universe than we have ever seen before. This historic moment is just the beginning and will change the way we see and understand our universe. My family and I were absolutely over the moon to see these new images as well as more to come today streaming live on NASA’s website.
