Dear Friend,

Sworn Into the 445th Legislative Session

Earlier this week, I was sworn into the Maryland House of Delegates to serve District 30A! This is an incredible honor, and I am so excited to continue working for you in the 445th Legislative Session of the Maryland General Assembly!

There is so much work to be done in the 90 day sprint, and I look forward to providing you weekly updates on the work I'm doing throughout the session. In the meantime, here are some photos from the first day of session!

Elected Vice-Chair, New Anne Arundel County Delegation Leadership

It is my honor to announce that I have been elected the Vice-Chair of the Anne Arundel County Delegation. This leadership position is extremely important to me, and I look forward to representing the interests of District 30A and all of Anne Arundel County!

I also would like to congratulate my colleague and dear friend, Delegate Heather Bagnall from District 33C on being elected Chair of the Anne Arundel County Delegation! I look forward to working together in this new leadership role for our county.

You can tune in to watch our weekly delegation meetings every Friday at the link here.

Reclaimed Annapolis Opens on Main Street!

Congratulations to Reclaimed Of Annapolis for their grand opening! They have worked hard to open their first of two planned stores in the city, and I love their combination of reclaimed furniture and home decor. Not to mention their stage for live music! Put this at the top of your to do list this weekend!!

Social Justice Movie Night

The Anne Arundel County Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is sponsoring an upcoming social justice movie night in partnership with Maryland Hall!

The 41-minute documentary, Testing the Divide, chronicles one of the most concentrated investigations of discrimination by real estate agents since the enactment of America's landmark fair housing law. Newsday found evidence of widespread separate and unequal treatment of potential minority homebuyers and minority communities on Long Island. The three-year probe strongly indicates that house hunting in one of the nation's most segregated suburbs poses substantial risks of discrimination, with black buyers chancing disadvantages almost half the time they enlist brokers.

Following the screening there will be a panel discussion, seating is limited, so be sure to RSVP HERE as soon as possible!

The Healing Library: Death of a Loved One is a set of materials that includes 8 books, guides for reading these books with children and relating them to personal experiences, therapeutic activities to help process emotions, and local resources.

These books and activities focus on how to help young children begin the process of healing when someone they love has died. They are suitable for a range of ages 2-10 years old. The kits can be requested to any branch location. The kits check out for 3 weeks.
