100 Days Left

First, congratulations to Wes Moore and Aruna Miller for winning the Democratic Gubernatorial primary race! Their campaign of addressing inequalities, creating opportunities, improving educational outcomes for all and bringing all Marylanders together is exactly what we need -and I am so very proud of!! I look forward to working together on this coordinated campaign for all Maryland families!

We are roughly 100 days from Election Day! I am so grateful for everyone who voted in our Primary, and for all those who have shown support for me - from knocking on doors, putting signs up, and attending campaign events. Our campaign of bringing relief to Maryland families, lowering taxes, protecting rights for all, keeping education at the forefront and being good steuarts of the environment continues to grow in support. But campaigns are not won in November - they are won in the hot days of summer!

Your support means the world to me! But the General Election has officially begun - we only have 100 days to reach voters - and I can’t do this without your help. I am asking everyone to help in supporting our campaign and build upon the momentum we have:

You can sign up for any of those on our website, and be sure to follow us on Facebook to get updated on any upcoming events!

Again, thank you to all those who have reached out and joined this campaign. I look forward to continuing the conversation with the voters as we head into the general election on November 8!

Endorsement Alert!

I'm so proud to have been recognized as a Legislative Champion for my 100% pro-community solar voting record in 2021 and 2022. Expanding access to solar is just one way that Maryland is leading the path towards a cleaner, greener future.

Support our Students!

Time to fill the backpacks! This summer, Tyler Heights is again partnering with Walk the Walk Foundation to provide students with backpacks filled with necessary school supplies.

Your support helps make sure that students have the materials that they need to get the school year started. You can donate here.

In the Community

Congratulations to Anne Arundel Dermatology, (my family’s dermatologists!) on their grand opening & ribbon cutting yesterday! The new offices bring their surgery center, offices, and Meridiem DermSpa into one beautiful space.

It is always a pleasure celebrating businesses in our community with Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

I also had the opportunity to join the first Annapolis Bike Party! Each month this group organizes community events that involve bikes and Annapolis. Yesterday's event included a stop at Forward Brewing as well!

What an amazing group full of fun and energy! Kudos to the Annapolis Bike Party Steering Committee - Keith Cyphers, Jonathan McCopp, Aaron McCrady, & Kaitlyn McQuaid for putting on such a wonderful community event!

Love Our Libraries

Forward Brewing, Crooked Crab Brewing Co., and Hysteria Taphouse have joined forces to celebrate the library! Each brewery has created an exclusive libation. 20% of all on-site sales during the release events will be donated to the library to support enhancements at all 16 branches. Forward Brewing is releasing their special brew on August 2, 2022 between 5-8pm - this is a great way to support local businesses AND our public library system! More information here.

I encourage everyone to follow the Anne Arundel County Public Library’s Facebook page to get updates on programs and new resources. You can check out their calendar to find the perfect event for you and your family to enjoy!

A Well-Deserved Retirement

Congratulations to my friend and brilliant educator, Mrs. Carter Hughes on her recent retirement from 34 years of teaching. Her family commemorated her dedication and passion for teaching with a thoughtful plaque and bench in the Mary Garden at St. Mary’s. The plaque truly reflects the core of Mrs. Hughes style throughout her career: “Encouraging Minds to Think, Hands to Create and Hearts to Love. Carter Hughes a Dedicated Kindergarten Teacher.” Thank you, Mrs. Hughes for all you have done to encourage, educate and love so many in our community! Congratulations again!
